Ginger bread house

i made a ginger bread house with chandler. it was very cute and i worked on my art skills and made it sick. it is a good. i think we should have made some in class. i might have to put it in my portfoilo? amy what do you think :)

Wheel Throw!

So i went on the wheel for the first times since like freshman year... it was scary but matty helped me and showed me the ways of greatness. I threw the body and the spout for the tea pot in the picture to the left. This is going to be a sick teapot. i drew this when i was in cali and i and jacked to make it!!!! happy early b day amy -_-

I made the vase on the right side. this is my family project and it is called marraige. this is two vases held together by a metal plate and some screws. so the two vases are stuck together just like when you say i do and put on that ring. i am very happy with the color that cam out of the wood firing. it looks great!!!!!!!! i love it

Wood firing

I went o my first wood firing last weekend. It was alot better then i thought it was going to be -__- even though everyone though we were not going to gewt there on time. i had fun getting to know more peopl in my class. I am exciting for tomorrow beacuse they are unloading th kiln. Hopefully my project is fine. I put this picture of my last projects that came out of the wood firing. They turned out great and hopefully these ones will turn out good as well.

Making my t-pots better

I want to make my tea pot look more like this. I want to add more color to it. I feel like it is more interesting to. I tend to like to use my black gun metal glass. I feel like that is a good glaze to use but i want to make my work with alot of different of firings. When you add color it makes it look more realistic and makes it more interesting to look at. I also like how the blue looks with the black. i made a mask in class last year and i likes how that turned out mayeb i will have to do something like that again. if anyone has any thought of what glazes would look good with my industrial t-pot/ vessels just tell me

Michael t Schmidt = god

So this guy i just found out about his name is the Michael T Schmidt. This guy is legit and is my new idol. He makes really great vessels just like how i would love to make. They are all industrial tea pots!!! This is the only picture i could post on cus i cant copy them from his website but go to his website his art is sooooooo legit. He is my new obsession right now. I want to talk to him i will email him soon and hopefully he will respond. Hopefully he will be able to give me just steez pointers and show me the way of his ceramic life. Hopefully you guys will love his art as much as i do -_-

Family Porject

This is my family project.This is two vases binded togethwer with a slab and some skrews on both sides. This is suppose to repercent marriage. The bind together tells the viewer that they are together and they are not going to seperate. this is how marriage should be. I am very happy with it i do not knwo what i am going to glaze it as though...... I need soem help on that. I wanted this project to be known that i made it and be under my steez. i am happy with it so far i just need to green scrubby pad it some more then fire it.

Junk

This is a pile of junk slash random stuff beacuse thats is what we did on tuesday. We got 6-7 hours to pick up objects that have no desire top be together but we made them bind together with made skills and nails/ glue.
This was a very hard but we had alot of time to work on it that was nice. I found out when you do art for that long you need a break. When we had that five min break it was amazing just to relax.
You need to space out time to do art.
 But that project was fun to do beacuse you went into it knowing nothing of what you were going to make. So when you were finished you just made a trandom peices of art work.

Jim Koudelka

Jim Koudelka is the artist that inspired me to start to do the industrail artwork. This is a picture of one of his art pieces. They are amazing. I love all his art work. He is a portland artist and he works at OCAC. One day i would love to get the chance to meet his so he can share if knowelge with me. I know that this would be hard to do but i will have to look into is someday. I decided to talk about Jim Koudelka beacuse this is the guys who started to inspired me and got me to do all this really cool metal looking ceramics. I love how this peices looks like it is made of metal but when you first look at it you dont know what it is. This is like my circle tube intustrial vessal. At first you dont knwo what it is but once you can touch it and look at it all angles you will know what it is. Jim Koudelka is an amazing artist and you guys should check him out

sarah project october 6, 2010

These are my sarah projects and they got fired. i do not know what i want to glaze them but i was thinkin i could do a barrel/ smoke fire. i think they would look cool witgh a smokey finish. it would make the smoke stack vase.
it would also look cool on the other form. i think it woul dbe cool to use tape to put some design on it. i am very happy with them and think that they turned out very cool. now i just need to start my new project about the family...... still need to think of some ides for that one..
hopefully they will come to me soon.

Industrial Tea Pots

I am very into industrail clay making. I think my concertraion is going to be indusrtial teapots. I have already made 4 industrail teapots and i have being drawing alot of stuff so i can make. I have 6 different industrial tea pots in my sketch book that i would love to make. hopefully i will have time to make them. this picture i have posted was made by Doug Herren. he is a boss. This guy makes my peices look like nothing but one day hopefully i will get up to his level. I want to make a pieces that is as good as his or even better. If you have any cool pictures that you find 0lease show me i would love to look at them.

Shocking Project September 23, 2010

So this week had some good and bad in it. first the bad.... Ton carl and I were firing at my house and when i came home from school everything blew up.... so this sucks. now we are got to crank out our sarah project! i know we can do it. Now the good :) For our shocking piece i finial know what i am going to make. I am athiest and have very strong views agaist religoin. I do not agree with there morals and soem of there teachings. So this is a perfect project so show my feeling about religoin. My project is going to invole a cross covered in bible paper. then i am going to have a nuse hanging around the cross. Then i dont know if i am going to write something on it or not. i am thinkink of writing pride on it. if you had any ideas please tell me!!!!

Retreat Post 9-17-10

The retreat was alot more fun then i thought it was going to be. We made some cool stuff. I really like the guest artist. i ended up making vase (in the picture to the right) it is pretty sweet. very happy with it. i also had alot of fun bonding with people that i did not really know. the last unicorn was also pretty sweet. My plans in the year is going to make some cool stuff and make a good concertration. I am working on this vase right now i am almost done with it i need to still green scrubby pad. i still dont know what to glazes it.
